**Read in your most corporate, generic and AI-generated voice as possible**

Are you a passionate, results-driven marketing professional ready to take your career to the next level in a fast-paced, innovative environment?

Done By Nine is seeking a dynamic self-starter to join our high-performing team. In this exciting role, you’ll leverage cutting-edge digital marketing strategies to deliver synergistic, data-driven campaigns that move the needle for our diverse client portfolio.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • A passion for marketing and people
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
  • A hunger to learn and grow
  • Experience across digital channels would be advantageous

Sound like you? Email your CV and cover letter to lazymarketer@donebynine.com. And if you do send an email to that address based on this job description, you’re most likely not the right fit (keep reading…)

Ok, that's enough of that. We know AI can produce something that looks like marketing in seconds, but this role is about knowing what to really do with what comes out. That's the job.

Here’s what we’re actually looking for:

Marketing Account Manager

First, a little bit about us. Done By Nine is a marketing agency based in New Plymouth. We work with 60+ businesses across New Zealand and Australia – running their strategy, paid media, and content strategy as an extension of their team.

We’re not a big agency. We’re a sharp one. And we’re growing in a direction that most agencies are still nervous to talk about – using AI as a genuine business tool, not a content shortcut. We need someone who gets that distinction.

What the role involves

You could lead client relationships or manage performance across Meta and Google – but either way, you’ll be shaping a campaign strategy, reviewing content, and keeping everything moving – often across multiple accounts at once.

Plus, you’ll use AI daily. For research, for ideation, for briefing, for reporting. Not because we’ve mandated it, but because it’s genuinely the smarter way to work, when you know how to use it properly.

The 11 seconds it took to write that job ad above? That’s the easy part. The strategy, the judgment, the client conversation, the ability to look at a campaign that isn’t working and know exactly why – that’s what we’re hiring for.

What we're looking for

– Someone who reads a set of results and immediately sees the story, not just the numbers.
– Someone who’s used AI for real work – not just to write their CV.
– Someone who can sit with a stressed business owner and leave them feeling clearer than when they walked in.
– Someone who moves without being told to.

What you're walking into

A team on Devon Street, New Plymouth – and remotley arcoss New Zealand. Clients who value the relationship. A business that’s actively building something different – and wants the people around it to grow with it. We’re building a business for where marketing is going, not where it’s been.

The details

📍 You’ll be based in our New Plymouth office (or remotely for the right person)
⏱ Full-time, Part-time or contract positions considered
📅 Start date: when the right person is ready

How to apply

Don’t send a generic CV. Or do – we genuinely can’t stop you. But if you want to get our attention, tell us something real (either written or as a quick video): what you’ve done, how you think, and why Done By Nine makes sense for where you’re heading.

Email jordan@donebynine.com – don’t expect an automated email response – just the start of a genuine conversation.

Nine questions, three minutes later, you’ll be on your way toward gaining greater clarity with your marketing.

From there, we’ll be in touch to better understand what you’re looking for and to confirm (on both sides) that the fit is right.
