The Govett-Brewster Foundation is the principal philanthropic partner of New Plymouth’s renowned Govett-Brewster Art Gallery | Len Lye Centre. A forward-thinking and inspired group of supporters, the Foundation is committed to supporting contemporary art, sharing unique art-driven experiences, and amplifying the cultural, economic, and community impact of the Gallery.

The Challenge

To strengthen connections between the Foundation, its Members, Partners, and the Gallery, while increasing awareness and participation in the programme.

The Govett-Brewster Foundation wanted a partner who could help deepen the impact of the Foundation and Gallery, while celebrating their bold creativity and inspiring giving. The brief was to deliver a fully integrated design and communications approach that could amplify the Foundation’s voice and support key initiatives from Exhibition Preview Tours and Exclusive Art Adventures to Great Art Projects and the Foundation Awards.

The Strategy

As the Govett-Brewster Foundation’s Design and Communications Partner, we took a fully integrated approach to elevate their presence, engage their Members and Partners, and amplify their impact.

We started by building an online presence for the Foundation. Alongside this, through email marketing and carefully crafted collateral, we help the Foundation tell its story, celebrate its programme, and reinforce its reputation as a bold and visionary philanthropic leader.

We support the Foundation across key elements of their programme, such as Exhibition Preview Tours, National and International Art Adventures, Private Home Tours, Great Art Projects and Awards celebrations, creating all invitations and communications through email marketing, and print collateral that ensures Members and Partners are informed, engaged, and inspired.

By combining design, communications, and strategic storytelling, we ensure each touchpoint strengthens relationships, increases participation, and highlights the Foundation’s commitment to contemporary art and unique experiences.

We’ve built a brand presence that is engaging and celebrates their programme, while leveraging email marketing and strategic communications to keep Members & Partners informed, engaged, and inspired to participate in the programme.

This collaboration has not only enhanced the visibility and impact of the Foundation’s work but also earned recognition in 2025 with an award acknowledging Done By Nine’s contribution to the Foundation’s Design and Communications Partner.
